How “El Capitán” got its name:
The living room of El Capitan has a seafaring motif and feel. And the bedroom has the floor build up, with two steps, so that the bed and area around it is elevated, and from the bed itself you can see the ocean all the time. And we figured that this is what a captain would want, being able to survey his domain - the open ocean all the way out to the horizon - at all times. So we called the property El Capitán
