Positive: Sao Vincente is a stunning place to stay. The house was comfortable and clean and it was great to have two outdoor spaces. Check-in was easy.

Negative: Some things just took the shine off our stay, including: - cockroach in bathroom. - upstairs terrace isn't totally private as the upstairs neighbour's access to their apartment is via the terrace so they were coming and going quite a bit. Access to upstairs terrace is all the way round the side of the house, would be much easier if we were able to unlock the laundry room door and go that way. - they told us we might be able to check in early and they would let us know but then ghosted us on the day so we had no idea what we should do. We ended up killing time and checking in later. - lots of building work on the road where we were which was noisy, busy and unsightly. There are other areas of the valley which were much more peaceful and probably much nicer to stay. - hot tub takes 6-8 hours to warm up. Would have been nice for cleaning staff to turn it on prior to our arrival as we weren't able to use it until after day 2. - they refused to provide laundry detergent. Also coffee pods not supplied so we ended up not using the coffee machine. No fuel supplied for indoor or outdoor fires despite evenings getting pretty cold in Jan. - some kitchen utensils were a bit over-used and could do with replacing.
