Casa Magdalena has been in the same family for more than 45 years. This is a big house divided into units in a local neighborhood. This stay is for those looking to save money but also be immersed in Puerto Rico's local environment. (You may run into pigs and roosters in front of the house. )The house was built in the 50's in a Art Deco style and we have done our best to make everything comfortable for your stay. However, if you are looking for a modern new stay, this is not the place for you. Monteflores is next to a lower end neighborhood that to some may seem too downtrodden and to others a piece of Puerto Rican color. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. We strive to give you a great experience but want to set your expectations so that you do not arrive expecting to be in a hotel environment. The stay is completely safe and fun as it is close to all San Juan attractions so you are getting the best of both worlds at a better price. Neighborhood info
Monteflores is close to beaches and all great and fun neighborhoods. This neighborhood is local and not surrounded by commerce. It is ideal to have a car as Ubers can be a challenge at times. If you are looking for a hotel area, this is not a hotel but a local experience.
During your stay be sure to visit the Port of San Juan and Pan American Pier. Looking for a casino? Casino del Mar at La Concha Resort is a 10 minute drive.
Popular points of interest just a short drive from Casa Magdalena include Condado Beach, Ocean Park Beach, Carolina Beach, Barbosa Park and El Teatro. The nearest airport is Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, 3.1 miles from the accommodation.
